Camborn - The Sea of Despair (Mare Desperatio)

Capital: Camborn

Before it was the inland sea, Camborn was a powerful stabilising nation that used it's famed military might and diplomatic skill to maintain a time of peace on the continent that lasted over 700 years. The central court at Camborn was jointly ruled by King Jullus and Queen Xera, their nation was prosperous and every nation in Lathlenn would have a presence there in order to manage disputes and agreements. The complete destruction of this nation during The Collapse as it sank into darkness and the space filled in with water has shattered the peace of the continent, not helped by the appearance of monsters, dragons and other races unimaginable by the human inhabitants. Treasure hunters and adventurers have attempted to find the wealth of the nation but it seems danger now stalks the sunken city at the foot of Mount Vessellus, whose peak sits above the sea with a rumour that a dragon has come to roost there.

Geography

Camborn is a vast inland sea surrounded by steep cliffs and punctuated by a large singular mountain rising out of the center of the sea. Measuring 390mi at it's widest point East to West and 300mi North to South.

Landmarks

Underwater ruins of Camborn

Situated at the foot of the colossal Mt Vessellus, Camborn was the shining city of the human race. Nearly a million men, women and children called it home, it's buildings pale white and gleaming in the sun. Now it lies under a sea of water, not even the tallest tower able to pierce the surface. Most of the city is still intact, seemingly frozen in time at the moment of the Collapse from those few adventurers who have returned from a visit to its depths, often to find some lost family heirloom or treasure but those who have returned have often spoken of a dark presence at the edge of their mind.

Mount Vessellus

Only the peak of Mt Vessellus remains above the Camborn Sea, the rest under water.
